Are you not vaccinating your kids? 1 mother argues why you should
Many parents choose not to vaccinate their children for fear they will contract more serious health disorders, like autism. While you have the freedom to do what is best for your child, vaccines are important. If you don’t believe us, read what Dragana Petrovic argues and maybe her case will change your mind about vaccines.
Sick From The Very Beginning
Dragana Petrovic thought she gave birth to a happy, healthy newborn daughter. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
Her daughter, Nadja, was born with hypocalcemia, a disorder that causes lower than average calcium levels. Nadja’s blood needed calcium; therefore, the mother and daughter were in and out of the hospital from the very beginning of Nadja’s life.
Because of Nadja’s health condition, she couldn’t be vaccinated. Now she was more susceptible to mumps, measles, rubella, influenza, hepatitis, and more. While Dragana was hopeful that her daughter’s immune system would naturally fight against these illnesses, it didn’t exactly work.
In early 2018, Nadja was diagnosed with the measles after contracting it from another child at the hospital.
The Road To Treatment
Nadja fought hard against the measles, but the disease consumed her life. She suffered one high fever after another and eventually had a heart attack.
Resuscitation measures were performed to save her life, and Nadja fought for her life for three more months. She passed away in early April— finally at peace after fighting for so long.
Vaccinate Your Kids!
Since Nadja’s passing, Dragana is passionate about sharing her story with as many parents as possible. The growing trend of parents choosing not to vaccinate their children must stop now, Dragana pleads. If Nadja had the option of being vaccinated, she could possibly still be an active child.
“Every child has the right to be protected from infectious diseases,” Dragana shared. “My angel left me too early, but I will fight so no one forgets her and goes through what I went through.”
