The 90s was an era before the Internet took over and all you could do was to cling on your favorite magazines and cut out your favorite celebrity’s pictures. I remember, having a collection of Kate Winslet clippings after the success of Titanic.
However, let us remember our favorite heartthrobs of the 90s and relive our glory days. So, brace yourself because nostalgia is about to strike a home run.
In no particular order, here is a list of some of the most loved celebrities from the 90s.
1. Leonardo Dicaprio
Leonardo Dicaprio started with an acting gig in 1979 as a child on “Romper Room and Friends.” However, he became an overnight heartthrob after receiving his first Academy Award nomination for a role in 1993’s hit “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.”


His leading roles in blockbusters like Romeo and Juliet and Titanic skyrocketed his career to be a Hollywood A-lister, and the rest is history as he continues to amaze us with his outstanding performances.
2. Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt’s career garnered him the attention of the masses after his leading roles in “Legends of the fall” and “A River Runs through It.” He is now one of the most recognized celebrities in Hollywood.
Although he starred as a hitchhiker in “Thelma & Louise” back in 1991 but earned recognition for his work making him a bona fide 90’s heartthrob.
3. Tara Reid
Tara Reid rose to prominence as quintessential cute girl next door. She starred in comedies like “Josie & the Pussycats”, “Scrubs” and American Pie. In the late 90s, Reid flipped her celebrity image on its head by appearing on party shows like MTV Fashionably Loud, Spring Break, Taradise, and Cancun 2000.

4. Jennifer Love-Hewitt
If you are a true 90’s lover, your list cannot be complete without Jennifer Love Hewitt. After all, who does not remember her iconic role in “I know what You Did Last Summer.” However, her career took off once she bagged the role of Sarah Reeves in “Party of Five” in 1992.


She has started in numerous hit movies and TV shows since then. Jennifer is also the author of a book named “The Day I Shot Cupid.”
5. Jennifer Aniston
No matter what your reason is to compile a list of heartthrobs of the 90s, you can never leave Jennifer Aniston out of it. She rose to prominence the day she appeared on our screens as Rachel Green on the evergreen 90’s classic Sitcom “FRIENDS.”


She started at the age of 11 as a child actor and now is one of the most accomplished celebrities in Hollywood with an Emmy, Golden Globe and other accolades under her belt. Jennifer recently appeared alongside Adam Sandler on Netflix’s most watch movie called “Murder Mystery.”
6. Jonathan Taylor Thomas
OMG! He was one guy who was on every girl’s dream list, and you can see her posters in every 90s teenager’s room. Jonathan Taylor Thomas or JTT as they call him is not as active as he once was, but we will always remember him as a resident hottie from Home Improvement, 1991- 1999.


Though he laid low for a while after the show ended, he made a comeback and collaborated with Tim Allen in Last Man Standing, 2013-2015.
7. Paul Rudd
Paul Rudd has definitely drunk from the foundation of youth because he has barely aged since the debut in Clueless in the 90s. Fast forward, you can still see him on the screen with that timeless hotness creeping up on you.


He certainly has that Dorian Grey voodoo going on there. And now that’s he’s been around as long as he has, he also has a nice guy vibe just by power of familiarity alone.
8. Jared Leto
You may have seen him as the Joker in Suicide Squad, but he was a legit heartthrob in the early 90s. Don’t you just love the way Jared leans? Fast forward into 2020, Jared Leto looks like a “Sexy Jesus.”


He has successfully grown his acting career, including taking on more serious roles that have earned him respect – and an Oscar to boot.
9. Will Smith
If any heartthrob of the 90s knew how to win over the hearts of the crowd, it would be Will Smith. He was a born star from the moment the appeared on our television screens.


Yes, he is a successful Hollywood A-lister now, but he had a humble beginning as a rapper and who can ever forget his iconic role as Will from “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” He went on to become a huge success as an actor, rapper, businessman, and family man.
10. Freddie Prinze, Jr.
A Silver fox in his own right nowadays, Freddie Prinze Jr. used to a heartthrob in the 90s. You will still find women stalking his Instagram account to have a peek at those hot dad looks. Do not just believe us; check it out yourself because Freddie Prinze Jr. is a special breed of a celebrity.


Though he was the leading guy when it came to rom coms, he dialed back his spotlight exposure after he got married to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and became a father.
11. Macaulay Culkin
You cannot reminisce the heartthrobs of the 90s and leave Macaulay Culkin out. We still love him as Kevin McCallister from the Home Alone Films. Culkin’s hilarious comic role as a child actor propelled his career to becoming a bona fide heartthrob of the 90s.


He later starred in well-loved movies in the 90s such as Richie Rich, The Pagemaster, Robot Chicken and Party Monster.
12. Alicia Silverstone
Alicia Silverstone rose to fame with her iconic role of Cher in a cult classic “Clueless.” Watch the film today, and you will know why she is still sitting on our 2021’s list of heartthrobs of the 90s. Before her debut in Clueless, she appeared in a music video of Crying by Aerosmith.
At the age of 16, she bagged a role in The Crush winning 1994’s MTV movie award for the Best Breakthrough Performance. Alicia is still acting, and you can see her in Netflix’s The Baby-Sitters Club.
