Oh he’s doing just fine—touring the country, singing “In The Air Tonight,” of course.
Angelina Jolie and Jon Voigt
Yes, unlike some other father/daughter duos, the physical resemblance between Angelina Jolie and John Voigt is uncanny. The Maleficent actress has certainly elevated to A-list stardom throughout her career thanks to loads of movie hits. One of those was her lead role in the acclaimed Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, an adventure, heart-pounding thriller.
Voigt hasn’t been a slouch either. You could say success runs in their family, starting with him. His career launched into the stratosphere after landing an Oscar nomination for Midnight Cowboy, which went on to win three Academy awards.
Luke Wilson and Owen Wilson
You probably guessed it, Owen and Luke Wilson are bros. They’ve even appeared in a couple of movies together, including The Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket and Around the World in 80 Days. Some siblings are hard to tell apart, but not with these two thanks to physical differences in virtually every category.
It can suffice to say, however, they both shave some serious acting chops. Luke has appeared in successful hits like Tower, star-studded casting flick 3:10 to Yuma and Rushmore. While Owen has made great strides as well with Midnight in Paris, Marley & Me and Wedding Crashers.
Barbra Streisand and Josh Brolin

Streisand’s had her fair share of acting gigs, too, with roles in Meet the Fockers, Little Fockers and The Guilt Trip to name a few. According to People, Brolin said he talks to Streisand frequently and cherishes their bond. It’s always nice to see a successful celebrity relationship!

They often post on Instagram together, doing fun activities like playing what appears to be a game of solitaire.
Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard
Bryce Dallas Howard, known for her lead role in an episode of the cerebral sci-fi thriller Black Mirror and perhaps most notably Jurassic World, is the daughter of prestigious film maker Ron Howard. You would think her father would cast her in his films but, according to TMZ, she said this has yet to happen.
Look, all we’re saying is, “Ron, give her a chance!” She’s proven to be a rising star, with roles in Lady in the Water, The Help and Gold. Apparently, her father also has some ground to cover in the relationship department. According to USA Today, he once mistook Jessica Chastain as his daughter. C’mon, Ron!
Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Moennig
Turns out Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love actress Gwyneth Paltrow is the cousin of Gone star Kate Moennig. However, she isn’t particularly fond of being compared to Gwyneth, alluding to her as the “alt-Gwyn” in an interview with the New York Observer. However, that doesn’t mean there is a genuine dislike for her cousin…
In an interview with the Observer, Moennig underscored her aunt’s talent as “a wonderful actress.” She later asserted, however, they certainly are not the same person and that she occasionally worries about “cruel things from the public” when being compared to her.
Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire
American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson married into the McEntire family after tying the knot with Reba McEntire’s stepson, Brandon Blackstock. Their backstory is pretty adorable. They first met in 2012 during Super Bowl XLVI after her manager, who’s Blackstock’s father, introduced them. It’s probably safe to assume Blackstock was captivated by her national anthem performance…
Meanwhile, McEntire and Clarkson have kept close family ties together. In an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the pop musician superstar fawned over her mother-in-law, saying, “You’ve always been a hero to me.” Keep an eye on these two, as they’ve also been talking about possible film collaborations.
Hilary Duff and Queen Elizabeth II
Some people might call their familial relations flimsy at best, but whenever you get a chance to be associated with royalty, why not take it? Multiple sources confirm that Hilary Duff has received the rare distinction of being “crowned” the closest American celebrity to the Queen (other than Meghan Markle, obviously).
According to findings by FindMyPast.com, they are technically 18th cousins. The site states Duff’s “gateway ancestor” is a rooted descendant of the royalty line. Specifically, an officer in the British Army during the late 17th century. Now that’s pretty tough to beat!
Conan O’Brien and Denis Leary
Conan O’Brien’s unmistakable red hair apparently carried over to another familiar face, Denis Leary. But that’s not the only commonality between the two. The two comedic personalities are also third cousins. Leary has even taken his stand-up comedy to Conan’s late night talk show.
While O’Brien has largely remained within the realm of comedy and hosting his late night show, Leary has also taken up voice acting roles in multiple animated movies in shows like The Simpson’s, Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas and Family Guy.

Of course, David Spade went on to establish a long career in film and television. Aside from Saturday Night Live, he’s starred in classics like Tommy Boy and Joe Dirt, often playing his usual sarcastic self in most of his feature roles.
Steven Spielberg and Jessica Capshaw
Perhaps one of the most influential and iconic filmmakers of the new Hollywood age, Steven Spielberg, is the father of former Grey’s Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw. At first, she was scheduled to appear in three episodes of the hospital drama, but series producer Shonda Rhimes gave her high praise and granted her a more permanent role on the show.
And for Spielberg, well, let’s just say he needs no introduction. The billionaire producer has made countless blockbuster films. Some of the more notable ones include Saving Private Ryan, Schindler’s List and Raiders of the Lost Ark to name a few.
Brandy Norwood and Snoop Dogg
You know him by many names: Snoop Dogg, Snoopzilla, The Doggfather, even Snoop Lion. Well, turns out the rapper is also first cousins with I Still Know What You Did Last Summer star Brandy Norwood. Brandy has carved out quite an impressive Hollywood resume herself as both an actor and R&B singer.
Snoop Dogg has been quite active in the entertainment business. The question is: What hasn’t this guy done? He’s been in countless movies and TV shows, climbed to the heights of the Billboard charts with songs like “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Gin & Juice” and much more.
Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson
Oscar-winning actress Goldie Hawn is the mother of Almost Famous star Kate Hudson. The two share a very close bond, especially after Hawn was by Hudson’s side for her granddaughter’s birth, Rani Rose, which didn’t mark the first time she was present for her daughter’s childbearing either.
It seems the old saying “like mother like daughter” applies here, too, as Hudson has established a rooted acting career. Some of her biggest roles include How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Bride Wars, and Fool’s Gold. She even earned an Oscar nomination for best actress in a supporting role in Almost Famous.
Robyn Lively and Blake Lively
Accomplished actresses Blake and Robyn Lively are half-sisters. There’s not much of the typical “sibling rivalry” going on here. In a joint interview with Access Hollywood, Blake Lively labeled her sister as her “best friend, and another element” of herself, adding “she reflects the things I want to be more like.”
Blake’s career really took off much later than her older sibling right around the time of the hit TV show Gossip Girl, playing the role of Serena van der Woodsen. Meanwhile, Robyn experienced peak fame during the ‘80s, starring in The Karate Kid Part III, Teen Witch, and Wildcats.
Bill Skarsgard and Stellan Skarsgard
The Skarsgards are certainly a zany bunch. Stellan is Bill’s father, and he has seven other children. And Bill, well… let’s just say he’s taken on some interesting roles in his career. One of which includes his role as Pennywise the clown in Stephen King’s IT where he terrorizes the citizens of the fictional town Derry, Maine.
Stellan, meanwhile, has been in a moderate number of parts himself, including big box office hits like Good Will Hunting and Mamma Mia! For the most part, the whole family seems to have celebrity stardom. That is except for Sam, who decided to become a doctor instead.
Christian Bale and Gloria Steinem
Political activist and feminist Gloria Steinem has had such a celebrated career in journalism and politics that she earned the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013. She also became Christian Bale’s stepmom after marrying his father before he passed away in 2003.

Lenny Cravitz and Al Roker
You can believe it: Lenny Cravitz and Al Roker are related! According to Today, their grandfathers were cousins, which makes them distant cousins. Roker, a weather forecaster and television personality, said he doesn’t mind the connection at all. “All I know is I am going with it. Kids think it’s cool.”
Pretty cool, indeed. Who wouldn’t take the chance to be related to a famous musician? Singer-songwriter Kravitz acknowledged the connection, saying he knows of other family members who share the name Roker who live in the Bahamas.
Amy Schumer and Chuck Schumer
It’s been talked about at length on the interwebs: are Chuck and Amy Schumer related? The answer is yes, they are actually distant cousins. Technically, Chuck is Amy’s father’s cousin, which makes them first cousins once removed. Yes, we know it’s a stretch, but they are still related, nonetheless!
Their careers couldn’t be more different. Senator Chuck Schumer works in the United States Senate while Amy Schumer has taken on a life of comedy. In other words, one is pretty serious, and the other isn’t. Amy has also appeared in a few movies including Trainwreck and Snatched alongside her stand-up routines.
Dakota Johnson and Melanie Griffith
You could say Dakota Johnson isn’t exactly new to the celebrity scene. After all, the 50 Shades of Grey actress is the daughter of Melanie Griffith, who has played big roles in Working Girl, Lolita and Something Wild. While the two have had documented mother-daughter spats, it is pretty obvious to see they appreciate each other.
For starters, they were both on the same network which showed sitcom Ben & Kate and Raising Hope. In one instance, Fox would air these shows back to back followed by an interview of the duo to show their love for each other. Best friends for life!
Kate Middleton and Dakota & Elle Fanning
Who would’ve thought the Fanning sisters were connected to British royalty? Well, it’s true! Dakota and Elle Fanning are purportedly in the same generational line as King Edward III, and they are considered ‘distant cousins’ of The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. Talk about fancy!
Middleton also happens to be loosely related to popular television host Ellen DeGeneres. Who would’ve known? Elle has been a fan of the royal couple, too. She praised them once for going about “royal femininity” by their own terms. Looks like the Fanning sisters don’t mind the regal stardom!
Nicolas Cage and Sofia Coppola
Perhaps one of the most popular actors out there and ruler of the interwebs, Nicolas Cage, is a first cousin of Sofia Coppola. The former actress made quite a splash in the movie scene with a role in The Godfather and also later in The Godfather: Part III.
Apparently, her acting, along with the critique of the movie was so controversial she decided to begin a career in film-making and directing. Cage, on the other hand, took to acting and hasn’t looked back. He has landed big roles in National Treasure, Vampire’s Kiss and still leads an active acting career.
Alfie Allen and Lily Allen
The Game of Thrones fan base was shocked when it was revealed Lily and Alfie Allen are siblings. Who can blame them? It’s not every day a famous singer-songwriter and actor happen with stellar careers are related. The real story, though, is the lyrics behind Lily’s single “Alfie,” from her debut album.
In the song, she mentions her brother’s lazy smoking habits and his reluctance to get a job. As the saying goes, “fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony.” Alfie of course would later go on to be nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for GoT.
Quincy Jones and Rashida Jones
Actress Rashida Jones is the daughter of music producer and mogul Quincy Jones, but their relationship truly transcends their accolades. In 2018, Rashida co-wrote and directed a documentary based on the life of her father called Quincy. If that isn’t a mark of true family love, we don’t know what is.
Rashida and Quincy both have had great careers. With Quincy accumulating an astounding 80 Grammy nominations, winning 28 of them. Rashida is known for her castings in The Office and Parks & Recreation, though she has also shown extraordinary talent for writing and producing.
Scott Foley and Patrick Wilson
Actors Scott Foley and Patrick Wilson are brothers-in-law. But in terms of their career acting roles, they might as well be brothers. Both have often appeared in horror movies, with Patrick Wilson starring in Insidious and The Conjuring and Foley in the classic thriller Scream 3.
But they didn’t exclusively limit themselves to this genre. Wilson was also Raoul in Phantom of The Opera. Foley elected for a varied career, making frequent appearances in Scrubs and Grey’s Anatomy; he also directed and produced multiple TV series episodes.
Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt
Three years after losing his wife to breast cancer, Stanley Tucci married Felicity Blunt, becoming Emily Blunt’s brother-in-law. As with many other actors on this list, both have had their run-ins during their careers. Tucci and Blunt co-starred in the star-studded dramedy The Devil Wears Prada.
Both actors have led esteemed careers, but Tucci’s is hard to match. He has won three Emmy awards, including one for the TV series Monk, and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in The Lovely Bones. Blunt has led a dazzling career as well, with major roles in Edge of Tomorrow and The Adjustment Bureau.
Rob Schneider and Elle King
Who would’ve thought musician Elle King was the daughter of comedic actor Rob Schneider? We certainly would not have guessed it. Not only do they look dissimilar, they’ve taken contrasting career paths, too. King, who is perhaps most known for “Ex’s & Oh’s” first took to the music scene only after she began acting.
Her debut acting role came in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, which was written and directed by her father. It should also be noted he starred in the film as well. Meanwhile, Rob has reached success with older films such as The Hot Chick, and The Animal, but has seen reduced roles as of late.
Jenny McCarthy and Melissa McCarthy
You could say Jenny and Melissa McCarthy are BFFs and, more specifically, cousins. Jenny has even helped Melissa land gigs in the ’90s as a guest star in a sitcom to help boost her career. She’s even defended her over a critic’s comments about her weight.
In spite of the criticism, Melissa has had roaring success in hit movies like Bridesmaids and Spy. Jenny has had great acclaim of her own, too, including a Golden Globe Award and appearances in Dirty Love, John Tucker Must Die and Scream 3.
Marisa Tomei and Julianne Moore
Imagine finding out you’re related to someone in front of a live, televised audience. Well, that’s what happened on a PBS show called Finding Your Roots with Hannibal actress Julianne Moore and Marisa Tomei. The pair found out they share an X chromosome on the same stretch of DNA.
On top of their many successes, which include an Oscar for Tomei in My Cousin Vinny, they have both appeared in Crazy, Stupid Love together and also attended the same university in the ’80s. They’ve both welcomed the news, too, with multiple posts sharing their excitement on Instagram.
Bruce Dern and Laura Dern
Laura and Bruce Dern are very much related. In fact, they’re daughter-father. Both have intriguing movies that either launched or blew up their careers altogether. For Bruce, some argue his career went downhill after he killed John Wayne’s character in The Cowboys.
For Laura, her career would only trend upward after her role as Ellie in Jurassic Park.
The two are inseparable as well. In an interview with Vulture, Laura beamed about her father’s performance in the movie Nebraska, “I’ve seen it several times, and I fell madly in love with it.”
