Pushups are so simple, you could do them from home. Unfortunately, they deliver a plethora of pressure on your shoulders. Instead of doing them on the floor, you can use a wall. Simply place your hands on a wall, then do the same motion for a pushup against that wall. It’ll put way less strain on your shoulders.

Don’t Tread On Me

As you get older, your heart becomes a bit weaker. Using a treadmill will only make things complicated for your organ. Instead of possibly having a heart attack in the gym, go for a jog instead. A light jog in the park every morning can do wonders for your physical health.

Don’t Take A HIIT

Recently, HIIT (high-intensity interval training) has been the rage online. Unfortunately, older people aren’t equipped to take part in this kind of exercise. If you want something equally as satisfying but not as challenging, take up swimming. Several laps in the pool will help strengthen your arms and abs.

Shake A Leg

If you’re looking to work your legs, stay far away from leg extension machines. These exercises can make severe damage to your lumbar spinal discs. Having spinal disc problems at an old age involves a much longer recovery time. Stationary bikes are a much better alternative to working your leg muscles.

Pull Me Under

As expected, pull-ups can do some harsh things to your shoulders and muscles. If you still want to engage in this activity, you can simply use a pull-down machine at the gym. With this machine, you can still work on your joints with less amount of pressure being given.
