The No. 1 way to cook bacon: Revealed!
Bacon, America’s favorite food. We think we speak for us all when we say, bacon, when cooked well, is one of the best things to grace the taste buds. However, no one enjoys slaving over a hot stove with grease spluttering everywhere. Luckily for you, we have a solution. Let’s dive in!
Is There An Alternative To Frying Bacon?
Put simply, yes. Instead of frying, try baking in the oven. Trust us, you won’t regret giving this a go. The taste is delightful, plus it’s by far the most practical way of rustling up enough bacon for a larger party. No flipping necessary. No boiling stove. No dirty pans (providing you lay tin foil down first). It’s revolutionary!
What If I Want Crispy Bacon?
If you’re cooking thicker bacon, it’s harder to get the rashers completely crispy, especially in the middle. Instead of laying the bacon straight on the tray, place a metal cooling rack on the baking sheet, and then the bacon on top of that. As shown in the picture below:
Let’s Get Cooking
Preheat your oven to 400°F and lay your bacon on a baking tray (pre-lined with tin foil). Try not to let the rashers overlap with one another otherwise they’ll stick. Bake anywhere between 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown (check on their progress after around 12 minutes). Remove from the oven and pour away the excess grease.
