Everyone has had to deal with the occasional Monday blahs. Whether it’s recuperating from a long, fun-filled weekend or getting back into a work-related frame of mind, most of us need extra motivation on the first workday of the week. Read on for five tips that will help you get rid of that case of the Mondays.

Do Your Prep Work

You can relieve some of your Monday stress by preparing on Sunday night. Pack a healthy and hearty lunch. Have your clothes cleaned and ironed, ready to be worn. Set your alarm clock, then get to bed early if you can. By having everything ready to go on Sunday night, you’ll set yourself up for a great Monday.

Have A List

Have a short list of simple list of To Dos at your desk on Monday. This will give you a sense of control as you start working on these action times. As you check off each item, you’ll gain a sense of accomplishment that’ll power you through the day and into the rest of your work week.

Take A Break Or Two

Don’t get stuck in one place for too long, sapping your valuable Monday energy. Take small breaks throughout the day by getting away from your cubicle, walking outside for some fresh air, or going for a quick workout at the gym. Be sure to eat lunch away from your desk, giving yourself a break from your workload.

Look Good, Feel Good

Do you have new clothes that you haven’t worn yet? Try them out on a Monday. You’ll look good and you’ll feel good for doing so. And the good feelings you have will radiate among others. You’ll find yourself smiling and those smiles are contagious, from the barista at your local coffeehouse to your hustling and bustling coworkers.

Redefine Your Mondays

Who says you can’t make enjoy your Monday? Get your week started off right by going out to eat, seeing a new movie, or working on one of your hobbies. Why live for the weekend when you can make your Monday (or any other day of the week) a Funday?
